My Largest Tree Painting So Far!

I was contacted by a customer asking if I ever painted my trees larger than 158 cm by 112 cm. He explained that he had an area of Victorian framing on one of his walls that measures approximately 285 cm by 240 cm and he was interested in a painting that would go in the centre of it.

The largest painting I can paint as an un-stretched canvas is 152 cm high. We therefore agreed on an un-stretched canvas measuring 214 cm wide by 152 cm high. This is the largest tree I’ve painted. I made a special support frame to hold the un-stretched canvas whilst I painted it.

My customer stated that he liked the orange and yellow colour scheme but was interested in more red to be included in the leaf area and less green. I did my best to follow this request!

The un-stretched canvas is currently at my customer’s picture framer and is due to be stretched on to a stretcher frame before being hung on his wall.
