I’ve just finished this huge canvas painting. These completely abstract drip and splash paintings are some of my favourite ones to paint. I keep adding layers of colour until I’m happy with the result, creating unique paintings that all have their own energy and character.
I use water-based paints that I dilute to just the right consistency. They have a silk finish to them (approximately half way between matt and gloss) and once dry they are fairly flexible. This means that I can roll the un-stretched canvas up to send to you in a strong cardboard tube. Furthermore, when you then get the canvas stretched over a wooden frame to display it the paint doesn’t tend to crack or flake around the edges of your wooden stretcher frame.
