Pink Cherry Blossom Tree

Earlier this week I finished this tree canvas. I was particularly pleased with the balance of colours – it does always vary a little from painting to painting, even when I’m following a particular colour scheme. This is an original, hand-painted artwork on an un-stretched 160 cm x 112 cm canvas. I often paint similar trees in different colours, including to a customer’s custom colour palette. In the latter case, the customer is able to view the completed painting on my website before making a purchase, to ensure that the customer is happy with the picture.

Vertical Drip and Stripes Original Painting

This style of abstract painting is one of my most popular and I’ve just re-painted it. Although I’ve used similar colours to previous versions, each of these original paintings is a unique work of art as the colour balance and overall appearance always varies a little from painting to painting. The colours cascade down the canvas from the top to the white at the bottom. I have signed it in the top left corner with a small signature. In theory you could hang the canvas in a different orientation to that shown in the photo here, if you don’t mind the small signature not being the correct way up. This un-stretched canvas measures 160 cm x 112 cm.

Blue Dot and Spot Seascape

Sometimes I like to paint particularly wide canvases. This canvas measures 244 cm wide by 112 cm high. It is an original dot and spot painting that features many different colours, especially blue. It’s very abstract in nature but to me it suggests a lovely sea view. I add different colours of paint over many painting sessions, allowing the paint to dry in between.

Orange and Yellow Tree on Black Background

Normally I paint my trees on a white background but this time I decided to try painting one on a black background instead. I’ve painted the leaves with lots of orange and yellow, as well as many other colours as well. The black background really emphasises the vividness of the colours and also adds a sense of drama. The small white spots around the tree hint at the possibility of stars in a nighttime sky. This is an original painting on an un-stretched 160cm x 112cm canvas and is available to buy on my website https://redlarkart.co.uk/

Yellow and Orange Star Painting

I’ve just finished this new abstract starburst painting. It features lots of different colours, especially yellow, orange and white. It’s a very bright and happy star / sun picture with plenty of energy and painted in a very expressive style. The canvas measures 160 cm x 112 cm. This is an original, hand-painted artwork by me, Rich Gane. I paint similar large star paintings in a range of different colours and ship my canvases throughout the UK.

Blue and White Pointillism Landscape Painting

I finished this dot and spot original painting today. It’s based on a section of river near me in Somerset, UK. it’s a small river at this point and it twists and turns through the countryside, with trees all along the riverbank. The style of this painting is somewhere between Pointillism and Minimalism, with a vivid blue base colour and then many small dots and spots of white paint on top. This un-stretched canvas measures 160cm x 112cm. This painting may suit people looking for a large modern art original canvas that features just blue and white paint.

Orange and Yellow Tree Painting Just Sold

This is a tree canvas I sold today. It is very colourful, with lots of orange and yellow, as well as many other colours. I paint similar trees in a variety of different colours; I think I will paint another one soon with plenty of shades of brown. Different combinations of colours in my paintings help to provide potential customers with options – so that the canvas complements the colour scheme in the room.

New White and Orange Moth Painting

I was particularly intrigued by a moth I saw the other day and so decided to paint a picture of it. The background is orange and I have then painted the moth with numerous dots and spots of white paint. This method of painting shares some similar features with the Pointillist art style. There’s also something fascinating about taking a very small insect and enlarging it on to a really large 160 cm x 112 cm canvas.

I recently painted a sheep in this way and am hoping to paint more very large canvases in this dot and spot style over the next few weeks.

Oatmeal Brown Spot and Dot Paintings

Some of my favourite large paintings to create are my ‘spot and dot’ canvases. They feature lots of circular dots of paint and a few long drips of paint as well. Usually I paint them with many different colours, though occasionally I like to explore a monochrome palette, such as black and white.

These two paintings were created at the request of someone who wanted colourful paintings but with oatmeal / light brown paint featuring heavily. I decided to paint two canvases that were quite similar. However, even subtle differences in the application of the different paints can result in paintings that have a noticeably different finished appearance to one another.
