Pink Cherry Blossom Tree

Earlier this week I finished this tree canvas. I was particularly pleased with the balance of colours – it does always vary a little from painting to painting, even when I’m following a particular colour scheme. This is an original, hand-painted artwork on an un-stretched 160 cm x 112 cm canvas. I often paint similar trees in different colours, including to a customer’s custom colour palette. In the latter case, the customer is able to view the completed painting on my website before making a purchase, to ensure that the customer is happy with the picture.

Orange and Yellow Tree on Black Background

Normally I paint my trees on a white background but this time I decided to try painting one on a black background instead. I’ve painted the leaves with lots of orange and yellow, as well as many other colours as well. The black background really emphasises the vividness of the colours and also adds a sense of drama. The small white spots around the tree hint at the possibility of stars in a nighttime sky. Three New Very Large Tree Paintings

I paint quite a few abstract tree paintings. They’re enjoyable to paint and also popular with my customers.

My stretched canvases are typically no larger than 81 x 60 cm. Paintings that are larger than that are painted on un-stretched canvases. That is to say that the canvases are loose sheets, not yet attached to wooden support frames. These un-stretched canvas paintings are sent to customers rolled up in cardboard tubes.

I like to experiment with different combinations of colours in the leaf section of the trees. With these very large paintings shown here, one has predominantly orange and yellow leaves, another has mainly blue leaves and the third tree painting features a lot of light brown / oatmeal.

As you can see, there are still lots of other colours in all three of these trees as well.

Metallic Gold and Yellow Tree Painting

A new abstract tree painting by me, Rich Gane.

As with most of my tree paintings this canvas features a wide range of different colours, however, there’s a particular focus on metallic gold paint and light yellow. The metallic gold is two different sorts of gold, which helps to give the painting variety but also balance. Unlike the other paints used on this canvas, the gold paint has a metallic finish to it.

My tree art is some of my most popular art with customers. There is an almost infinite number of ways that colours can be used in the leaf section of the trees. No two of these ‘drip and splash’ trees are ever the same.

At the base of the tree I normally like to paint some grass with wild flowers and fallen leaves. As with the rest of the canvas, the grass and flowers are painted in a loose, expressive style.

This is original abstract art that focuses on being colourful, vibrant and happy.
