New White and Orange Moth Painting

I was particularly intrigued by a moth I saw the other day and so decided to paint a picture of it. The background is orange and I have then painted the moth with numerous dots and spots of white paint. This method of painting shares some similar features with the Pointillist art style. There’s also something fascinating about taking a very small insect and enlarging it on to a really large 160 cm x 112 cm canvas.

I recently painted a sheep in this way and am hoping to paint more very large canvases in this dot and spot style over the next few weeks.
