Normally I paint my trees on a white background but this time I decided to try painting one on a black background instead. I’ve painted the leaves with lots of orange and yellow, as well as many other colours as well. The black background really emphasises the vividness of the colours and also adds a sense of drama. The small white spots around the tree hint at the possibility of stars in a nighttime sky.
