Large Abstract Paintings
This is a large yellow star painting I recently painted for a customer, in a custom size and colour scheme. I was asked to include some metallic gold paint in the design. Rays of bright colour radiate out in all directions. This sun painting is guaranteed to bring warmth and sunshine to any room! The un-stretched canvas measured 100 cm by 70 cm. It was signed on the back. I rolled the canvas up and sent the painting to my customer via courier.
These are two commissioned paintings that are ready to be dispatched to my customer next month. They’re both custom sizes, to suit the wall spaces that the customer has available. The customer’s friend has a painting of mine that this customer tells me she has ‘admired for a while’. Following a redecoration this customer now has room for a couple of my paintings.
After a little bit of discussion we decided that I would paint un-stretched canvases measuring 136 cm x 95 cm for the painting going in their hall and 126 cm x 126 cm for the painting going in their lounge. Both paintings are based on designs of mine, although since I paint all of my pictures by hand, no two are ever quite the same.
Initially, the hall painting was going to be a square of 136 cm x 136 cm. The customer wanted the paintings to be as big as possible to maximise the ‘colourful impact’ that my art has. However, in the end the customer decided that her painting should have the same proportions as the rectangular painting of mine it was based on, so that meant reducing the height of the new painting to 95 cm.
These paintings will be rolled up and sent to the customer by courier next month, when she is back in the UK.
This painting is currently on its way to my customer via the courier Parcelforce. I was asked if I could paint one of my vertical drip paintings with a particular combination of colours. The customer was keen on the canvas featuring a reasonable amount of turquoise, pink and blue, with only a small amount of red. I did my best to try to get a good balance of these colours, as well as the many other colours that I usually include in a painting like this. The customer was able to review the photos of the finished painting that I emailed her before deciding to then go ahead with the purchase.

Dots, drips and spots of many different colours of paint have been energetically applied to the canvas by hand to create an expressive and lively piece of modern wall art. Several types of blue paint tilt the colour scheme in that direction overall. Each of my abstract drip paintings is a unique work of art. There are endless different ways of combining colours of paint on a very large canvas like this. This really helps to keep me feeling inspired and enjoying the process of creating each painting. As soon as I finish a canvas such as this I find that I am already thinking about new colour schemes and painting techniques that I want to try on the next canvas. I hope that this helps to keep the paintings fresh and spontaneous.
